Normal Americans Prefer Republicans.  Those who support traditional USA values, like a respect for God, identify more with the GOP than Godless liberal Democrats.
Very religious Americans remain more likely than those less religious to identify as Republicans or to lean toward the Republican Party, while nonreligious Americans are significantly more likely to identify as Democrats or lean Democratic. This religion-party identification gap has persisted since Gallup began tracking it in 2008.  Read more at GALLUP.com.

"It saddens me when sometimes my fellow Republicans duck and cover in the face of pressure from the left. Our party cannot be all things to all people," Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) said at a Republican party event in Louisiana today.

"Our opponents on the left are never going to like us, so let's quit trying to curry favor with them!"

Presidential hopefuls Mitt Romney and Herman Cain have declined to sign a pledge that calls for White House hopefuls to push for Four anti-abortion goals if elected president. Five other candidates -- Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty and Rick Santorum -- have signed the pledge, written by the Susan B. Anthony List.

The pledge requires that candidates promise to nominate or appoint pro-life judges, Cabinet members and administration officials. It also calls for zero taxpayer funding for abortion and the defunding of Planned Parenthood.  Cain said "I support right-to-life issues unequivocally and I adamantly support the first three aspects of the Susan B. Anthony pledge involving appointing pro-life judges, choosing pro-life Cabinet members, and ending taxpayer-funded abortions. ... However, the fourth requirement demands that I 'advance' the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. As president, I would sign it, but Congress must advance the legislation.

Rick Perry For Governor?  Can Rick Perry Be Drafted?

Governor Rick Perry Frightens DC Based Politicians
Floyd and Mary Beth Brown:

Rush Limbaugh is starting a movement, a movement to draft Texas Governor Rick Perry for President. Here's what Rush said this week on this radio program: "There's no way you're gonna hear Rick Perry supporting amnesty in any way, shape, manner, or form. He's solid on that, plus pro-life. Rick Perry stands in opposition to inside the Beltway Washington elites, I don't care what party they are." ... more

Michele Bachmann Stands Up to Media Distortions

Dear Boomer,

Our conservative message and values have hit a nerve. The "intelligentsia," left-wing radicals, mainstream media, and yes -- even some of my so-called friends on the right -- have flipped the switch on their attack machine in an effort to silence my voice and derail our conservative movement.

Some of their tactics and comments are so vile, and disturbing, that I refuse to repeat them. One of the most recent attacks comes from a supposedly right-leaning media outlet, and misrepresents the work I have done at the state and local level for Minnesota - and suggesting that my husband and I have profited from a business when we absolutely have not! In fact, the attacks have become so pervasive, Rush Limbaugh addressed them Monday on his radio show. In a show of dedicated friendship, he defended my conservative credentials to his listeners:

"The point is," said Rush, "Michele Bachmann fights the big budget items more relentlessly than most people do, which is why she's being attacked. Michele Bachmann focuses on the stuff that really matters in terms of dollars and cents, and that's why he's under assault now."

To help me defend myself from their vicious attacks, I need your immediate support to reach out to other fair minded individuals across the United States with the truth about our conservative agenda. Your donation of $25 will cover the cost to send 10,000 additional emails; $50 will cover the cost for 1 advertisement on some of the most trafficked websites; and a $100 or more donation will help me run an interactive poster on Drudge Report, which will help us reach millions with our message of constitutional conservative values.

A decade ago, I never imagined I would become the target of such an appalling, coordinated national smear campaign. Today, as I prayerfully consider our options for the future, I fully understand that the Democrats and Washington ruling class will spare no expense to take me down.

Their socialistic big-government agenda has undermined the foundations of our Constitution, our democracy, our economy and our freedoms. ObamaCare stands alone as the most shocking power grab in the history of our nation!

I know that you understand attacks on me are simply a way for the liberals to attack the conservative values and principles you and I share. So that's why I'm counting on your generosity and immediate action to help me fight back against their lies, distortions, flimsy facts and phony charges with the truth.

As a strong and unapologetic voice for our conservative movement, I remain the top target for defeat by the Obama Democrats and their attack machine. Not a day goes by when I don't learn of some new angle of attack – many of which cross the lines of decency.

I won't be deterred in our goal to bring common sense and fiscal sanity to our federal government. I know you won't, either. So if you believe in the freedoms guaranteed in our Constitution, I ask that you make a special contribution today of any amount you can afford right away. Every dollar helps me fight back against these attacks!

Finally, I want to reiterate how grateful I am to have such a broad, strong base of activists standing with me. Please accept my sincere appreciation for your friendship and generous support. God Bless You!

Sincerely,

Michele Bachmann

P.S. I have faced the mainstream media's attack machine before. But they have really stepped up their efforts in their coordinated attacks to take down conservatives. The attacks have gotten so bad, that my friend Rush Limbaugh took to the airwaves to defend my conservative credentials! It's going to take a lot to continue fighting against these attacks and that's why I'm urging you to take a stand for our shared values today with an emergency donation of $25, $50, $100 or any amount up to the legal $2,500 limit. Your support is appreciated. Thank you!

2012 Republican Candidates and Potential Candidates: Recognition, Ballot Position, Positive Intensity Scores

Michelle Bachmann Wants Your Opinion on Republican Candidates

Dear Fellow Conservative,

I'm writing you today to ask for your personal support. As I type this email, the Democratic leadership in Washington, D.C. is laying out plans to defeat me and many other Republicans in 2012. They are bound and determined to reelect Barack Obama, increase their numbers in Congress, and retake the majority.

I've put together a quick one-question poll I'd like to ask you to take by following this link. It asks if you are satisfied with the current field of Republican presidential candidates. Please take a moment right away to take the poll and let me know what you think.

After taking the poll, I'm asking you to stand with me once more and to play a vital role in my next race as I consider my options of running for reelection to the House or seeking higher office. If you want me to continue fighting the big-government Obama agenda in the U.S. House of Representatives, please make a generous donation of $25. If you want me to seek the Presidency, please make a donation of $50 or even $100 to let me know I can count on you.

I will be making this important decision very soon and need to hear from you right away!

I'm reaching out to you for help because the liberal media credits me with being a conservative stalwart who routinely leads the opposition to President Obama. That's why the most radical supporters of President Obama's agenda are so committed to defeating me regardless of which office I decide to seek.

After all, I not only voted against "ObamaCare" but was also the very first Member of Congress to introduce legislation to repeal it. I introduced legislation to make permanent the Bush tax cuts because the federal government doesn't suffer from a revenue problem; it suffers from a chronic spending problem. I voted against the bailouts and refuse to support any increase in the U.S. national debt limit whatsoever. We cannot expect our posterity to pay for the excessive spending of our generation just because President Obama and his Democrat allies in Congress refuse to provide any sort of fiscal leadership.

I'm asking you to step up to the plate for me today, as I've been privileged to do for the conservative cause over in the U.S. House of Representatives. If you will spend a minute of your time now to let me know how you feel about our current slate of Republican presidential candidates, I would appreciate it.

Please give me your important input today by taking this one-question poll!

Again, your contribution of $25, $50, or even $100 would be a great help to my campaign and will help me decide ultimately what decision to make very soon. I need to raise well over $10 million to advance my vision for America's future and highlight my conservative leadership in Congress for limited government and fiscal responsibility -- and ultimately ensure that we repeal Barack Obama.

To accomplish this goal, I'm relying on friends and supporters like you to step up to the plate to help me today. I look forward to your immediate response and I thank you once more for your friendship and support.

Sincerely,

Michele Bachmann

P.S. I have put together a quick, one-question poll to see if you are satisfied with the current field of Republican presidential candidates. Please take a moment right now to take the poll by following this link. Remember, your opinion counts and I'd like to hear from you so please
follow this link to take the poll.

Gingrich can be one of the most clear-eyed and forceful advocates for supply-side economics and the value of free enterprise.

Some of the highlights of Club for Growth's report on Newt

Posted: 16 May 2011 01:49 PM PDT

Club for Growth, whose negative White Paper on Mike Huckabee three years ago gave the former Arkansas Governor a lot of bad press, released their first paper this cycle today. Newt was the subject.

From the White Paper: "Gingrich can be one of the most clear-eyed and forceful advocates for supply-side economics and the value of free enterprise." They criticize him about his support of some tax credits, but as they note, there is not going to be any Presidential candidate -- especially a serious one -- who does not.

Club for Growth: "In a 2008 op-ed, he enthusiastically praised the idea of an optional, single-rate income tax reform proposal." The report does not say it, but last week Newt included an optional, 15% flat tax in his 9 point "Gingrich Jobs and Prosperity Plan."

The Club commends Newt on, among other things, free trade, wanting the repeal of Sarbanes-Oxley and many other burdensome regulations, personalizing Social Security, school choice, tort reform, and political free speech.

The report's summary states:

One could reasonably expect a President Gingrich to lead America in a pro-growth and limited government direction generally, possibly with flashes of real brilliance and accomplishment, but also likely with some serious disappointments and unevenness.
Of course, the same can be said of every political leader, even Ronald Reagan, who irked many conservatives over his two terms in office -- including a young Newt Gingrich.

No one is able to get 100% of the policies they want. Ronald Reagan's philosophy was to get 70% of what he wanted, then once people saw how well it worked, he would get the remaining 30%.
